Oh Bloody ‘ell
(AP Photo/Kirsty Wigglesworth)Man, this game was ugly on so many levels. The weather was gnarly, only letting up with the downpour the last few minutes of the game. The field, more suited for lighter bodied, fleet footer soccer players was a mess. I haven’t seen that many divots on a field since the last time I tried my hand at golf.
As you can imagine looking at the score (13-10) and the game conditions, this certainly wasn’t the prettiest of games. Thank fully, the Giants have their bye week this weekend and a chance to work out the jet lag and refocus on the rest of the season.
Notable
Brandon Jacobs ran for a career high with 131 yards on 23 attempts. In those conditions, I’d say a 5.7 yards per carry average is pretty damned impressive. I believe he should have had more in the game, but the offense abandoned him at the onset of the second half.
How about Eli’s touchdown scamper from 10 yards out? Not only have I watched the replay a couple dozen times, I giggle every time.
After a game like that, I think we need a bit of a break. Let’s hope the 6 game win streak doesn’t lose any steam in the interim.
