Heart Attack Special
Nick Laham/Getty ImagesKnowing that the game wasn’t going to be televised today I decided to head on over to the in-laws to help my wife’s father drop an old dead willow in the backyard. That took up a good portion of the morning and by the time that I got home the Giants were behind by 10 in the 3rd quarter. Great. There goes any chance of running off a streak of wins prior to the bye week.
Having to keep the Redskins’ game on in order to catch highlights of the Giants-Jets game was painful enough, but knowing that they were down by a couple of scores was salt in the wound.
A Complete 180
It wasn’t more than a few minutes of me watching the running scores at the top of my television screen and following along in “real time” on a variety of web sites that the Giants scored and then took the lead on Plaxico’s catch and mauling. I say mauling because that was one hell of a straight arm that allowed him to take off down the side line for the TD.
The next online highlight was that of Shockey’s touchdown. I don’t think a bigger nerd existed in my zip code at the time of that score. I was cheering on my team through the magic of text updates on a web site. Sad, I know, but I was just too damned siked.
Aaron Ross is the Man
And to wrap up the come from behind victory, rookie cornerback Aaron Ross nabbed his second interception of the game and returned it for the final score of the game. How sweet is that?
